Ready to loosen the chains of the week. #weekend
It’s clear. No need to read between the lines. I’m in a weekend travel getaway mood! It’s March! Time to check off winter!
Mondays are so beige and deconstructed.
Looking at the week like … #Monday
Today I am excited to style a presentation in the annual African Street Festival in Brooklyn NY. I can't wait to see the many Diasporic shades of black and brown skin, donning vibrant colors and patterns, sharing music, stories and cuisine ... all in celebration of The Continent and its beauty.
Whether stopping to remember love lost, stopping to appreciate new love or stopping the abundant noise on this candy-coated day, Happy Valentine's Day!
Sometimes it's necessary to simply check out of the madness in order to obtain a little more zen. I can't think of any better time than Black History Month to check out of drama and the negative news that bombards us via TV, digital and print media, and perhaps check out a book on great Black trailblazers. From those honored with holidays, monuments and films to those whom I will never know by name and whom never had a chance to experience half the piece of mind they fought for, I will spend this month focused on their Black excellence. I can't think of anything more uplifting and calming.
I don't make new year's resolutions. But I do hope that "The best is yet to come!" in every year. And this year is no different.
I look forward to seeing what adventure, prosperity and growth 2018 brings. And, after 2017 ... which was a roller coaster personally, professionally and in many ways in between ... I'm ready! Game on!
Happy New Year!
